Charging calculation, just checking

Postby icm63 » Mon Feb 09, 2009 5:24 pm

If I have this:
1 admin - Desktop hosting
200 clients

I send '1 alert to 200 clients', this is counted as 1 message, and not 200 messages, I assume that is correct ?

So the cost for a month of opertion with the desktop admin business alerts for stock market signal operation is
Setup fee : $28.89, I assume USD
Message costs for say 175 alerts in a month ( thats 1 message by the admin as 1, as above)

Monthly charge is : FREE (until 500 alerts exceeded, in a few months)
Setup is $28.89..

Is that correct ?

the charges haven't been finalized yet but there are no charges in beta version and whoever registers at this stage won't be charged development charges again for the same campaign when we move into production version.

Deepika,

Please advise on the definition of message, your charges are like 0.5/message..

so is this correct below..

send '1 alert to 200 clients', this is counted as 1 message, and not 200 messages, I assume that is correct ?

For calculating bandwidth, total messages counted are total messages sent which is no of messages x no of clients who received them.
As you can presume, bandwidth of 1 message delivered to 10 people can't be same as 1 message delivered to 1000 people.

Development and Usage Charges have been finalized now and you can check this page again.
This Page now include Calculator for Usage Charges which will make it much easier to calculate monthly charges.

Just checking

How much is YOUR SMS service for this type of volume

200 subscribers, 5 SMS alerts a day for 20 days.

Plus set up costs etc

Please advise ?

It says here (http://www.alertsdesktop.com/mobile_ale ... harges.php) that an SMS is credit of $0.78

I assume thats a charge of $0.78c per sms ( Assume USA customers only)

So the calc would be $0.78 * 200 * 5 = $780.00 for one days activity, is this correct ?
So for 20 days thats $15,600

Na that cant be correct !!

No, of course this calculation isn't correct. Maybe you haven't seen the SMS Packages page inside your members area (since you are a member, you sh'd see that before further calculations). Now, onto your current estimated scenario.
Since your estimated monthly requirement of SMS would be around 30,000 , we would take e.g SMS Package "20000 SMS" which costs $2000 and offers 20,000 credits.
Now sending SMS to USA takes 0.78 SMS credits, with the above package, you will be able to send 25641 SMS messages.
Hope this clarifies it. I will also add some more clarification on this on the sms charges page so as to avoid any confusion in future.
